Welcome to The FC. The UK's premier indoor football skills centre

What is it?

The FC was created as an indoor development environment for players of all ages and levels to progress their football skills together in the same sessions.  While training in groups, the focus is on individual skill development, ensuring that each player has the opportunity to enhance their football skills . We run sessions all year round, so you can train whether it is raining, snowing or scorching hot sunshine outside!

We achieve this by combining drills and the latest, state-of-the-art equipment used by professional football clubs to offer a high-intensity 45 minute session over multiple stations getting in your 1000 football touches.  This approach is be used to maximize skill development and conditioning

We work on the 70/30 rule:

Why are we different?

The FC will create and maintain individual player profiles with historical data, this is an excellent way to track and monitor the progress of each player’s development. This data-driven angle is a powerful approach that allows for personalised training and growth, and multiple benefits:

  1. Progress Tracking: Comparing current performance to historical data provides a clear and objective measure of improvement. Players can see their progress over time, which can be highly motivating and encouraging.

  2. Goal Setting: Players can set goals based on the historical data. This helps them understand what they need to work on and gives them a clear direction for their development.

  3. Self-Paced Development: Allowing players to develop at their own speed is important, as individuals have different learning curves and areas of focus. With personalised profiles, players can work on their skills and aspects of the game that matter most to them.

  4. Motivation and Accountability: Players may find motivation in seeing their progress and understanding that they are continually improving. The historical data also holds players accountable for their development..

How do we do it?

The FC utilises a structured and data-driven approach to skill development through various stations. These stations are designed to target specific aspects of football skills and offer a variety of drills to keep the training sessions engaging and competitive. Here are some examples of stations that are included in The FC’s training program:

  1. Ball Touch Improvement: During this, we focus on honing a player’s ability to control and manipulate the ball with precision. Drills at this station could involve dribbling, juggling, or passing exercises to improve a player’s ball-handling skills.

  2. Ball Control: Ball control is a critical skill in football. This station  features drills that emphasise first touches, trapping, and receiving the ball under different conditions, such as high balls, low balls, or bouncing balls.

  3. Field Scanning: Field scanning or awareness is an essential skill for players to read the game, anticipate opponents’ movements, and make strategic decisions. Drills at this station involve scanning the field, understanding positional play, and making effective decisions during gameplay.

  4. Shooting Accuracy: A station focused on improving a player’s shooting skills, including accuracy and power. Drills involve taking shots from different positions on the field, with an emphasis on target accuracy.

  5. Passing and Vision: This station emphasises improving a player’s passing abilities, including short and long passes, as well as developing vision on the field to make effective passes and create scoring opportunities.

  6. Aerobic and Strength Conditioning: While not directly related to skill, all stations focus on the physical conditioning of players, including endurance, speed, agility, and strength. Football players need to be in top physical shape to perform well on the field.

The regular rotation of these stations ensures that players have a well-rounded training experience and that they can continually work on various aspects of their game. This approach helps maintain engagement and competition within the training sessions, as players face different challenges and opportunities for improvement during each session.
